2026 Bullfighting Season in Pamplona: A Review of the San Fermín Bullfighting Fair

The 2026 San Fermín Bullfighting Fair has once again established Pamplona as a major landmark of the Spanish bullfighting season. From July 5th to 14th, the Pamplona bullring hosted ten days filled with excitement, stellar performances, triumphs, and memorable moments in the world of bullfighting.

The fair brought together prominent figures from the professional ranks, promising young talents, and some of the most renowned breeding ranches in the *campo bravo*, all while upholding the distinct character and high standards for which the bulls in Pamplona are known.

Tomás Rufo: The Big Winner of San Fermín 2026

One of the standout figures of the fair was Tomás Rufo, who delivered a memorable performance on July 14th during the *corrida* featuring bulls from the Jandilla ranch. The bullfighter from Toledo was awarded four ears and exited through the *Puerta Grande* (the main gate), emerging as the most successful matador of the series.

Other notable performers included Roca Rey, who once again demonstrated his special connection with Pamplona, and David de Miranda, who earned a triumphant exit on the shoulders of the crowd during his San Fermín debut on July 9th.

In the *rejones* (mounted bullfighting) category, Guillermo Hermoso de Mendoza and Roberto Armendáriz also succeeded in exiting through the *Puerta Grande*. Meanwhile, the *novillero* (aspiring matador) Mario Vilau was one of the key names during the early days of the fair.

Jandilla: Best Breeding Ranch of the 2026 San Fermín Fair

Regarding the livestock, the Jandilla-Vegahermosa ranch received the "Fair of the Bull" Trophy, thanks to the excellent performance of the animals presented on July 14th.

The Carriquiri Trophy for the best bull was shared by *Castigado*—from the Jandilla ranch—and *Cantarillo*—from the La Palmosilla ranch.

The fair yielded some notable statistics:

One bull, named Castigado, was honored with a lap around the ring.

Pamplona: an essential event on the bullfighting calendar.

The 2026 Bullfighting Fair (Feria del Toro) has once again highlighted the significance of Pamplona within the world of bullfighting. The atmosphere of San Fermín, the gravity of the *encierros* (running of the bulls), the distinct character of the breeding ranches, and the passionate fans who fill the stands make this fair one of the most special events of every season.

Pamplona thus concludes another edition of its bullfighting festivities, with Tomás Rufo emerging as the top triumpher, Jandilla recognized as the standout breeding ranch, and many memorable moments to look back on.

See you at San Fermín 2027!
